Ingredients

We only use the freshest, highest quality ingredients in our treats. You will find no preservatives or additives, no artificial colors or flavors, no artificial sweeteners, no chemicals, no wheat, soy or corn in any of our recipes. All of our ingredients are USDA-sourced, human grade, meaning we only use food ingredients that you would eat. We believe that if it is not good enough quality for you, why should you feed it to your dog or horse?

Our treats are fresh baked to order. They all have a “Baked On” date listed on the bag. We recommend that treats not fed within a two week time be refrigerated or frozen to preserve their great taste for your Pampered Pooch or Pony.

Helpful Health Information about our Ingredients:

FRESH GROUND FLAX SEED:

  • High in omega 3’s, crucial to good brain and nerve function. Omega 3’s help with arthritis and other pain, due to reducing joint inflammation
  • It can help improve hair and skin Problems (A common issue with allergy prone breeds)
  • Flax provides a good source of fiber for health of the intestinal tract (Another issue with sensitive breeds)
  • Flax is easily digested, gentle on the liver and contains the body’s complete requirement for amino acids. **This makes it a great choice for those with kidney issues who need a minimized protein diet

RICE FLOUR:

  • Non-allergenic and gluten free, unlike wheat or white flour
  • Soothing to the stomach and rich in nutrients
  • Lower in protein that brown rice flour, wheat and regular flour. Actually rice flour has half the protein of wheat flour!
  • Low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium

BLUEBERRIES:

  • Bursting with flavor, packed with nutrients, while at the same time low in calories
  • A great antioxidant, which work by defending against the harmful effects of free radicals.
  • *A great choice for our aging companions- as they (and we) grow older, the defense ability to free radicals diminishes
  • Also a good choice for those which urinary tract issues. Blueberries help keep the U.T healthy by stopping harmful bacteria from lining the bladder wall
  • Research has shown that Blueberries improved the mental capacity and motor skills of aging animals

HONEY:

  • Anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties
  • Easily digested, due to its inversion and concentration by the bees who produce it
  • An powerful immunity booster, which can improve digestive system ailments
  • *A great choice for performance pets, as it provides strength and energy to the body, as well as reduces muscle fatigue of athletes
  • Honey has carcinogen(the cells responsible for cancer)preventing and anti tumor properties

CARROTS:

  • An excellent source of antioxidants and the richest vegetable source of Vitamin A carotenes
  • Vitamin A/beta-carotine helps protect vision and provides protection against macular degeneration and cataracts in the elderly
  • Good for blood sugar regulation
  • A naturally sweet choice for aging companions
  • High in fiber, vitamins A, C, K and Potassium

SWEET POTATOES:

  • A good source of nutrition containing Vitamins A and C, Manganese, Copper, Potassium, Iron as well as dietary fiber
  • High in antioxidants
  • Since they are not actually in the potato family, will not affect those animals sensitive or allergic to potatoes
  • Easily digested, while providing a lot of energy

CHERRIES:

  • High in nutrients, vitamins and minerals
  • Cherries contain melatonin, which has been found to regulate the body’s natural sleep rhythms and prevent many of the effects of the brain from aging
  • Anti-inflammatory properties from the anthocyanins cherries contain
  • Low in calories, fat and sodium

PEANUT BUTTER:

  • We use organic peanut butter, not the refined, sugary, saturated fat type you’ll find in most grocery store chains
  • Monosaturated fats, found in Peanuts and Peanut Butter, are the type of fats found in a heart-healthy diet
  • Good source of protein and dietary fiber
  • High source of Resveratrol, the same substance found in red wine, that recent research has shown to have incredible anti-cancer properties and improving blood flow to the brain, reducing the risk of stroke

PUMPKIN:

  • Bursting with flavor, packed with nutrients, while at the same time low in calories, fat and sugar

BEET PULP:
